Brazil is blessed with a very diverse flora and fauna, and their cuisine has always reflected this - often by incorporating local ingredients into more international-style dishes. But recently, Brazilian chefs have been making waves by creatively updating traditional Brazilian dishes (feijoada, farofa, caipirinhas), while showcasing Brazil's indigenous foods at the same time.
This New York Times article about the Sao Paulo restaurants at the heart of this trend describes the intriguing food (mentioning at least 5 tropical fruits that I had never heard of), and has a link to a very cool slideshow of exotically beautiful dishes.

Great post! Many of these foods are from the north so even living in Brazil there are many I haven’t had the chance to try. I did get to try quindin a few weeks ago and loved it!
