Pisco, the grape brandy with fiercely loyal fans, is catching on north of the equator! It's possible to find better quality and more varieties of Pisco in the United States nowadays, according to this article in the Los Angelos Times. Pisco is produced from seven varieties of grapes, grown in designated regions of Peru and Chile. Pisco is of course the essential ingredient in a pisco sour cocktail, but connoisseurs like to sip artisan Pisco straight, and can often distinguish the variety of grape from which it was produced.
