Quinoa Crackers

Quinoa is a nutritious grain that has been cultivated for centuries in the Andes. Quinoa is really more of a small seed than a grain - the quinoa plant, Chenopodium quinoa is not actually a member of the grass family - and it packs a fair bit of protein into its small size. Quinoa has a nutty taste and pleasingly chewy texture, and is great in pilaf-style dishes as well as breads and other baked goods.

Quinoa gives these tasty homemade crackers extra crispiness and great flavor, with the added benefit that they are a bit more nutritious than most crackers.
